Introduction
Kisan Bahuudeshiya Sahakari Sanstha Limited is registered under Sahakari Act 1992 as a Bahuudeshiya Sahakari at Division Sahakari Office Kailali. In the initial period of its establishment it conducted activities that focused on buying and selling of agricultural produce of the members, selling agriculture inputs and running a cooperative shop and other activities that a normal multipurpose cooperative undertakes.
Later we realized that providing financial services to the members is most important to provide relief to the members from the exorbitant interest rates of money lenders prevailing in the community. Hence, it started process to obtain license from Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and was licensed by NRB in 1997 to provide limited banking services in the district. With its head office in Lamki Kailali, KISAN has been offering Micro-financial services since 2007 A.D.
Organization has been trying to facilitate all of its customer deposit of having various difficulties. In spite of acute competition of financial organization in this area, this organization has indicated its own presence by adopting different kind of financial program.
Most of urban oriented banks and financial companies are unable to reach in rural areas; proudly we can claim that we did. It was not possible under our single interfere so we decided to alliance with donor agency so we have been providing easy finance service in remote hilly area of district with the support of DFID Sakchyam Program since July 2015.
The micro-finance has also helped the women who have higher dedication but lower economical condition to become independent. The involvement of the people has been increasing day by day in the micro finance. The loan without any mortgage and door to door deposit are the chief attraction of 9 thousand family's involvement in this program.
